The Christmas Story A Nativity Story Powerpoint for K- 2nd Grade Christmas Rhyme

Teach youngsters the true meaning of Christmas with this powerpoint presentation of The Nativity Story, set to rhyme to capture engagement and enjoyment as children learn and recap about the birth of Jesus. The story tells the story from the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary to King Herod’s evil orders and Mary and Joseph taking Jesus to safety. As a primary school teacher, I loved to retell this story but found that youngsters often struggled with key information, which is why I chose to write it to rhyme, in order for children to become enthusiastic about it and retell it with a greater degree of accuracy and confidence. The story is accompanied by simple but colorful pictures to highlight key characters and places. There’s no prep needed for this resource but its simplicity offers valuable information from the nativity story to teach children about the meaning of Christmas. There are 12 slides included in the powerpoint download, with additional features at the end of the story, such as a story map, a printable word mat, character sheet, questions and a Nativity word search, all of which will help to support learners when completing follow up activities. This is a unique version of the story and only available through the 123misspoppins stores. This powerpoint compliments other products available in my store, such as the story as an A4 pdf book of the story and a reading center ‘clip the answer’ activity. These resources would be most suitable for K-2nd Grade or homeschooled learners. The version of the Christmas Story included has been written by myself and is only to be used by the individual consumer. It’s not permitted to be shared or used as part of any other online commercial use. Engage your learners in the true meaning of Christmas and share a fun version of the Christmas Story that they haven’t heard of before.

If you’re a teacher or homeschooling parent looking for an activity in order to retell The Nativity Story, then my reading center activity is perfect for checking learner’s understanding of the key events, names and places that The Christmas Story tells of. The low prep activity has been designed to support the retell of The Christmas Story set to rhyme, which is available in my 123mispoppins stores, however, it would also be compatible with other versions of the Christmas Story. There are 16 question cards with multiple choice answers that check the understanding of children’s ability to answer retrieval questions about the important Christian event. Youngsters can use mini pegs to clip the correct answer, write each answer in an answer sheet template provided or use them to test peers during whole class discussion. There are also 16 answer cards included in the PDF download, which will encourage learners to take responsibility for checking their own work or developing their skills in peer assessment. It’s a great way to move the ownership to children and free up teacher time by allowing them to self and peer assess. The resource will accompany other resources of this version of The Christmas Story available in my store, such as the powerpoint presentation of the story and a printable PDF book version of the story. Make learning of The Nativity fun and engaging by using these resources with K-2nd Grade learners and watch how they begin to name key characters and events with a greater degree of confidence and interest. I spy Christmas is a fun and engaging activity for children of all ages. During the build up to an exciting festive season, help youngsters develop their concentration skills, resilience and number sense with this challenging I spy Christmas activity printable. Children need to search and find hidden objects associated with Christmas within the main traditional Christmas scene. There’s everything from brussel sprouts, elves, candy canes, carol singers and a whole lot more seasonal items to find. I’ve tried this activity many times with my 7-8 year olds and it’s created excitement but engagement and entertainment as they begin to see who can find things first - it’s been a great valuable addition to the Christmas build up to develop focus and concentration across all abilities and needs. The activity comes as a pdf A4 but you can use your photocopier or printer settings to enlarge to A3. Use it as a center activity, morning work, early finishing task and as a simple 10 minutes of fun built into the school day! There’s no prep needed, however, for extra durability, you may want to laminate and use with a dry wipe pen so children can keep track of how many of each items they’ve found then once they’ve finished, they can wipe and the activity can be used again. Wishing you a whole lot of Christmas fun!
